Uppu Saaru


ಉಪ್ಪು ಸಾರು ... :) ಹೆಸರೇ ಎಷ್ಟು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆ, ಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಸೊಗಡು ...
ಬಾಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರು ಬರ್ತಿದೆ ...ಅದರ ಜೊತೆ ಮುದ್ದೆ ಅಹಹ್ ತುಂಬಾ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ combination...

The root of Uppu saaru is from our own land Karnataka.. Especially in the rural region..
It is in the form of chutney, which is mixed with dhal /pulse/vegetable stock and brought to the consistency of curry and served with hot hot ragi balls..
During Winter and rainy season this goes well... because of its ingredients ... it brings warm in the body..
And also when we have caught with Cold and temperature this brings back life to taste buds....

Ingredients  For Uppu saaru:
Greens / Soppu(Nugge soppu/ Arive soppu/ Dantu soppu/ Sabsige soppu)
Dhal  / Cereals
Garlic
Pepper Corns
Salt
Red Chilly
Tamrind

How to do :
  • Cook Dhal and Greens together.
  • Separate the stock of dhal .
  • Dry fry Red chilly .
  • Mixie the red chilly with garlic, tamrind, Salt and Pepper corns.To the chutney consistency.
  • And your kara is ready, So mix this chutney with stock as and when you eat.
