Authentic Gujrathi style Dhokla
Weekend...
Sunday.. lazy morning...
All that spiced up the morning was this Dhokla...
Yes a quick and easy and tasty.... though spiced up the morning.. being too less spicy... sweety... salty... and beautiful flavored dhoklas are one of the favorite evening snacks..
Yet prepared it in the morning though.... :)
Friends am posting this Dhokla recipe which i usually accustomed to do in my own way which had learn t it from one of my guju friend .......
Their are many ways u can prepare this recipe, while one way is this..
Total preparation time: 1h.15m
Cooking Time:12-15 min
Ingredients Required:
Gram Flour -250 gms
chiroti suji - 1 tbsp (optional)
Curd - 250 gms
Baking Soda- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder -1/4 tsp
Lemon juice- 1 tsp
Sugar- 2 tsp
For sesoning :
mustard - 1/2 tsp
curry leaves- few
Asafoetida powder- 1 pinch
Coconut grated- 1 cup
Green Chilies - 3 finely chopped
Cooking oil - 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
How to Prepare:
- Take the Gram flour and Suji sieve it together
- Mix flours together with salt, baking soda, turmeric powder ,1 tbsp of oil and keep aside for 10 min.
- In other bowl, add curd, lemon juice,Sugar and mix all together
- Whisk the mixture
- Then add it to the flour and mix well to the consistency of thick batter(a bit thick than idli batter)
- And keep the mixture with lid closed for nearly 30-40 min
- Then smear oil inside the vessel which will be used to steam the dhokla.
- Pour the dhokla mixture into the vessel.
- Then Steam it for 12-15 min.
- Remove from flame and let it cool.
- Mean while Prepare the sesoning.
- In pan add oil, when oil is heated add mustard, curry leaves, green chilies, Asafoetida powder and Pour this seasoning over the steamed dhokla.
- Add grated coconut for garnishing..
Dhokla is ready to it... :) Enjoy preparing it, as well while binging it
