Adventurous Trip not to forget...... :)

Long way to shiradi ghat...

It was long weekend holiday.. with varamahalakshmi festival lined up till independanceday.

And that was the instant thought in mind to plan an outing in this occasion.

So we thought of visiting Dharmasthala.

Myself, mom and dad start our trip towards Dharmasthala on Saturday 13th of August 2011 around 3.00pm evening and that was in our all time comfort Tata estate..

By the time we crossed the city limits it was around 5.30pm and headed towards Tumkur NH-4 highway, as we entered tumkur road we could see people rushing towards service road and in a wink of time it was a mob and cause was accident in road .. it was hit and run !!

In an accident both the bike riders was spot dead!!

And road was blocked by the near villagers and it took nearly hour to clear the traffic.. and again we started from their heading away from tumkur.

It was around 7.30 pm we stopped for dinner on highways..

As it was a plans to temple.. i had to give up my plans of hogging Chicken !!! :)

Soon after dinner we left the place and as it was late we thought to halt in hassan that night and early morning set to Dharmasthala.

But our driver was so fast in driving that, he realized had passed 12 kms ahead hassan!!

It was awfull for me and mom.. since we dint wanna take risk by driving late night...

Then we got an idea to halt back in Sakleshpur.

But to our bad luck, all the hotel rooms were filled and could only find boards reading "NO ROOMS AVAILABLE" grin :)

With no other option left, we had to drive night to reach dharmasthala.. with widely opened eyes, staring road all way keeping awake ourselves reached destination early morning 3.30 am.

It was drizzling, could see people get ready in that time !! to visit temple .. 

We started looking for room, again bad luck .. could not find any and had to spend another 3 hours in car.

Then dad came with room key knocking the door of car, i felt real good as we were drowsy went bed .

Woke up around 8 am got ready and went to temple premises, were horrified to see the crowd

though it was special darshan, the queue was longgggg.........

with drizzling had to manage and some how the queue moived fast and we did darshan of lord manjunatha swamy, with his blessing by the time we were back room, it was 1pm and immediately we left for lunch and their after packing the luggage we checked out room.

Now, we planned to visit malpe beach and then udupi.

But changed plans, to directly go to udupi..........

After the check out, from dharmasthala room .. we changed our plan to visit udupi.
which was around 109 kms.

We started towards Belthangady and After driving nearly hour or so the regular road was blocked due to the Road repair (road damaged because of heavy rain) So we had to take some bypass ..
Every 5 to 6 kms we had to confirm the right path, So stopped and enquired people around.

During then, one person gave suggestion that, if we are going to udupi we can visit Kateel on the way.. and anyways by the time we reach, it will be late evening. So we would just go and halt .. only next day we will do Sri Krishna Darshan ..
So as he suggested we had two paths/ deviations ahead us..


The distance board read it was too long for Kateel and not exactly on the way to Udupi.. And also in the previous visits we have been to Kateel So we dropped the idea of Kateel and Choose a path towards Udupi


Mantrady, Karkala were the places we passed by before we reached Udupi.
It was around 6.00 pm and was peeping through the window, saw Manipal college and was relaxed that we have almost reached our destination.


We drove inside Udupi Sri Kshethra and the parking lot was flood in vehicles.. :) Realized its vacation time again So more crowd :)


Dad arranged for the stay in Udupi and we dropped all our luggage in the room.
Soon then left for dinner.


I was quiet adamant to find Kediyoor hotel which was in the central city of udupi.. Since in my last visit too we had been to kediyoor and it was wonderful place .. i liked it :)


By then it was around 8.00pm we started to order .. I ordered for complete karavali style thali and karavali special dishes.. 

By karavali word... the one strikes my mind is  FISH... :)
Though dad wanted me to have Pure veg ...  !!


In the very first spoon itself.. looking at the anger face of dad... forgot to see the plate..
and swallowed fish thorn which started hurting the throat and hiccups started .. i could not speak with this thorn in throat!! 
Then immediatly 3 to 4 people from hotel surrounded our table .. And suggested to swallow some white rice.. and some other bought a banana and asked to swallow that .. and dad got some hot water ... uffff.. it was total mess!!
All this time in my mind, am thinking only about the fish in my thali.... ohh God will i be able to have this now?? :)
After all those circus of swallowing rice, banana, hot water.... thorn was gone.. and i was relieved ... can have happily my fish.. 


Dad started telling this was because i had non- veg!!..
Anyways next day we will be visiting temple.. and i had to try true authentic karavali style rite in Karavali itself... 
This would not be the case if it was few years ago... i would not go against what he said... that doesn't mean that purposely am trying to do against him now... :)  But in every visit/vacation we will be visiting temples.
Vacations are meant for relaxing and visiting new places, enjoying , trying out cuisines of that region, visiting pilgrimages.. 


So No offense in eating what we like in before day.

Hmm... then after dinner we left to room and had good sleep.
Since previous day it was hardly few hours of sleep.. soon as we hit the bed... Slept happily.


Next day early morning.. woke up soon got ready and left to temple, it was drizzling early morning.. each one of us with umbrella in hand stood in long queue.


After a while we had good darshan of Sri Krishna.
Its peaceful place.


Then saw the stalls around with CD's, Sri Krishna's Photos, gift articles, Toys, beaded strings, Books, etc..


Brought some toys for Praj and Abhi.
Then we went to nearby hotel for our morning break fast.. and their we saw one of our old neighbor, who is in his 90's..  had come with his family around 10 to 12 of them .
Mom recognized him and exchanged old memories .. by then we finished our breakfast and had strong filter coffee .. hmmm 


It was around 9.ooam and we checked out the room and left to Malpe beach.. It was hottt.... sun .. burning temperature.


Though scared to get into the water... enjoyed for a while and took snaps to keep the memories.. 


Then around 11.30 am brother gave call to know how was the journey.. Since we were in beach the noise was much .. Spoke to him and said finally that we were in Malpe beach now.. And will speak to him later.(Mom was waiting for us in parking lot)


So rushed towards parking lot.. got in car and it was like i have been inside Oven.. it was that hot..


We thought, it was just hour back we had our breakfast .. so lunch will not be this early.
And anyways we were heading towards Sringeri, so will visit the temple first and then for lunch we will drop in some hotel in Sringeri.


This is best example of.. nothing goes as per plan!! :)

Since Udupi to Sringeri is around 86 to 90 kms.. And maximum of 2 hours it takes to drive.
